The SME Fund is a European Commission initiative implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and has been launched again this year. This Fund has been open since the 23rd of January and will close on the 8th of December 2023. Funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The application for this fund can be filled out by an owner, an employee, or an authorized representative acting on behalf of the company. The grant consists of a partial repayment of costs to the beneficiary, up to a maximum of €1,000 per beneficiary in the case of trademarks and designs. Vouchers related to patents are being financed by the European Commission’s financial contribution, and the procedures are still being adjusted.

If all the funds are used before the end of the submission period, the online application system (eForm) will be closed and applicants will be informed accordingly on the SME FUND website.

Interested applicants can visit this link: https://euipo.europa.eu/ohimportal/en/online-services/sme-fund and fill out the relative application form. The SMEs can apply for their trademark and/or design, only after receiving their voucher.
